2. The Liberex FC2660S Water Flosser

Overall, it is not the worst water flosser device for around £40 but it is no substitute to proper brushing, manual string flossing or interdental brushing. Read the full review here to find out more.

Dental Floss Sticks, 4-Packs (200 pcs)

This is a popular dental floss Holder and it will cost 8 pounds plus another 5 pounds for delivery which makes a total of £13 altogether. This price is an average price SLIGHTLY towards the higher end but this is an extremely sturdy dental floss holding device. I also read some of the negative reviews and these are mainly from customers who are using an incorrect technique anyway or they are using their own poor quality floss inside the holder. The only extremely slight criticism would be that it can be large especially for patients who have small mouth so they could have difficulty getting to the very back teeth easily. But all in all, this is a good design for a floss Holder. As with all dental floss orders, if the floss goes down it can be difficult to slide it back up again and this is where it becomes a little bit cumbersome as you have to release the floss from the ends.

DenTek Sensitive Extra Gentle Silky Floss Picks 75ct

This dental floss holder is an eco-friendly floss holder. Regardless of its ethical benefits, it is very good where contact points are open or there are wider spaces as the eco-fibres are substantial and good at cleaning. You also do get in 30 days money back guarantee which they do honour if required.

Gum Flosb Rush Automatic Dental Floss Holder

This dental floss holder is from a reputable company which is popular in America called G U M. They tend to have dental products which are reasonable in price especially multiple buys. This uses an innovative idea where is spool of floss comes with the dental floss holder and there is a small handle to release floss as and when necessary. The floss itself goes down fairly well in trying to contact point areas. But the main problem is that the spool mechanism is fidgety to assemble and this requires manual dexterity which is usually the reason why somebody can’t manually floss in the first place. But you can always ask somebody with more management manual dexterity to help you assemble it. We do notice that sometimes the dental floss comes off the holder and this is then a problem because you have to reassemble everything.

T. Smile 3rd Generation Dental Flosser (Pack of 3)

This floss Holder costs more but is generally good quality. You get a total of 50 pieces altogether. The floss is therefore already attached to each handle. If you work this out, each one will cost 20p each and if you are flossing three times a day using at least one holder each time, this starts to work out expensive. In fact the whole package will only last two weeks and in the year this equates to £240 which is an awful lot of money. The quality of the floss is good but then it is let down by the plastic holder. We also noticed that some of the flosses would become undone from the holding attachment.

Wisdom Easy Floss Daily Flosser 6 Pack

This dental floss holder is made by Wisdom which is a good reputable company. The cost is £16 for four floss holders and attachments. This will sound expensive because if you use two in the day that is more than 1 pound every day. Over a year that would work out to £365 which is a lot. The overall quality is good but the floss strand is to loose where you have tight contact points between your teeth. The other issue can arise if you have rough fillings or overhanging crown margins which can cause the floss to get caught. The floss then has to be cut out in order to remove it which is cumbersome.

Dental Floss Sticks, 4-Packs (200 pcs)

This dental floss holder is the cheapest on the market and is one where you buy 200 pieces for 8 pounds. Unfortunately, the anglulated edge makes it difficult to manipulate properly on back molar teeth and it definitely would not go down when tried in tight contact points without snapping or breaking.

Gum Cryola Flossers Size 40ct

This is a  dental floss holder specifically designed for children to use. It certainly does have an absolutely lovely taste so it would encourage children to use it continually. This floss is only good if contact points are not too tight and fortunately in the mixed dentition phase, contact points are not to difficult to navigate. It certainly could not  be of any use like this for a patient who was crowding and is about to have or need orthodontic treatment.

Dental Floss Holder (Set of 2)

The cost of this device is 5 pounds for two. That means each one is £2.50 each. This dental floss Holder is small but the construction  is very poor. It doesn’t need a large force to snap it. The other problem that continually occurred was that the floss keeps slipping out. It is difficult to recommend this

Plackers Micro Mint Dental Flosser

This floss has been coated with a mint flavour but it is not at all pleasant. Even after you have rinsed your mouth out, the taste lingers on and you have to brush your teeth again or suck on a mint in order to remove this taste. Furthermore, the floss is far too fluffy and poor quality and easily shreds. Although it is small and and compact, the main principle of a dental floss holder is that it should be of good quality plastic and the floss itself should be easy to remove which is not the case here.

Artibetter Dental Floss Holder

This dental floss holder is similar to the one above in that it can be folded as a carry on implement but it is slightly better and still costs less than 5 pounds. It has some of the issues and problems as the previous one and the only use for this is an emergency use for example if you are going out for a meal and foods are stuck/in your teeth so that you can go to the bathroom and remove it with this. But a tooth pick will be easier and quicker.

Tooth Cleaning Dental Floss Holder

This floss Holder comes in two colours pink and blue. The cost is 8 pounds which is about average to the low-end in price. Although the handle is adequate it is the prongs on either side which are not sturdy enough. They certainly were not sturdy for trying to navigate down tight contact points between teeth.  This dental floss Holder would only really be useful for patients who do not have very tight contact points between the teeth which makes you think why they are using a dental floss Holder anyway if manual flossing is easy enough. The floss is held in by tying a knot on either side of the prong and therefore the knot can be difficult to take off afterwards.

Dr. Bauers Dental Flosser | Tooth Pick

On the surface this dental floss holder looks attractive as for 6 pounds you get nearly a hundred pieces so each folder will only cost you 6p each. Now the downside. The handles are so flimsy that they are almost impossible to use. The dental floss holder also has a toothpick on the end but you are just better off using a proper interdental brush or an interdental cleaning stick. As one reviewer said that “It is a nightmare touse.”

Artibetter 100PCS Kids Dental Floss

This is a dental floss holder designed for children to use. It certainly is, following their cartoon character. It is also cheap as each piece costs 7p and for 7 pounds you get a hundred pieces altogether. It is absolutely no use for permanent teeth as it is not sturdy enough and there is no clinical reason to use dental floss for deciduous teeth. The only benefit would be for children to start getting used to flossing.

Oral B e s t Dental Flosser

Initially when we examined this dental floss holder, we thought it was quite sturdy but the harder plastic is brittle and it just suddenly breaks off. The angle is also not ideal and in addition they have stolen the name from another reputable company to make it as if from them for those who are not astute. You probably wonder if they would honour any refunds if you did ask for them and the answer is probably not.

Floss Picks Holder Travel Handy Cases

This dental floss holder comes as an all in one where you get the holder itself, the dental floss and it all falls into a box so that you can carry it around with you. At a cheaper price of less than 5 pounds, it just looks like a toy replica. Out of 32 teeth, we tested this on, it was effective on only one and even that was a struggle.

mreechan Dental Floss

This dental floss holder comes as an integral floss holder together with the dental floss. The price is £13 for 300 pieces. However, the floss is very thin, unwaxed and will cut into your gum. It simply is not thick enough to be effective in removing plaque and debris interdentally. The handle is okay when compared to others here but the floss itself is a very inadequate.
